Hip Pain

The hip joint can withstand repeated motion and a fair amount of wear and tear. The hip joint is made up of a ball and socket that helps allow your range of motion. Hip joint pain is commonly caused by arthritis - a wearing away of cartilage, which causes significant discomfort with motion. Pain on the outside of your hip, upper thigh or buttock is normally caused by irritation to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissues that support your hip. Some hip and hip related conditions we currently treat are:

  • Arthritis
  • Avascular Necrosis
  • Hip Fractures
  • Sciatica
  • Iliotibial Band Syndrome
  • Muscle Strain
  • Greater Trochanteric Bursitis

It is important to distinguish with hip pain if the pain is actually coming from the hip or from the lower back, which is called referred pain. In order for us to evaluate exactly where your pain is originating from, call us today at (352) 404-8956 to schedule an appointment.
